Getting that nice vintage sound is not an easy task but we found the formula to achieve that old style vibe! A mixture of construction techniques, number of plies, grain direction and bearing edges make these drums sing in a very special way.
WOODS / BEARING EDGES
Starting off with soft woods, we mix them together with a nice thick core.
Our go-to recipes are Maple/Poplar/Maple, Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany or full mahogany shells. All of these shells have more horizontal plies than our traditional kits, in order to get the round and warm tone.
You can chosse from a full round over or a 30º round bearing edge.
FINISHES
As with our G Series, you can get virtually any finish on these drums but we mostly do wraps (like Oysters and Pearls), or just a beautiful natural wood finish, to give that extra vintage vibe.
HARDWARE
We think beavertail lugs look sweet on the vintage drums but you can also choose any other you like.
This series comes stock with lightweight but sturdy bass drum spurs.
You can choose to have a nice vintage tom holder on the bass drum or just keep it non drilled and use a snare stand for your rack tom.
Hoops are either 1,6 mm or 2,3 mm triple flanged, but if you want that super open and boomy sound, why not go with the single flanged?
Remo drumheads are our choice for this Series, and we can even get you a Buddy Rich style badge with your initials for the reso head.
